Turning ordinary fabric into beautiful keepsakes…

Autumn Leaves – the Netherlands Order

In July 2015 I have to go to Medan, North Sumatera to accompany buyer from the Netherlands who will visit Desiccated Coconut factory. One of them was a lady. After factory visit and during dinner we talked about many things and then we finally talked about quilt. This lady – Astrid decided to order one quilt from me for her bed back home.

I started to work on her quilt once I was back to Jakarta, I worked on that during weekend. It’s King size bed, I used needleturn applique technique to applique about 1000 leaves and then finalized it with hand quilting. After 5 months finally done and I sent the quilt to her through her sister in law who visited Bali and Jakarta around that time. Once she received the quilt she sent me pictures of the quilt that she put on her bed. She was really happy with the quilt and she said the pattern and the color suit the summer weather over there.

One month after she received her quilt, Astrid sent me email again and wanted me to make another quilt for her son – Siebe, 5 years old cute boy who loves vehicles – cars, trucks, trains, and etc. It’s so happy and give me a good feeling when customer happy with our work. It’s a reward you cannot value with money 🙂
